Hike overview
Located near Åndalsnes in the Romsdalen Valley in Norway, Litlefjellet (790 m) is a short hike offering exceptional panoramic views for minimal effort. Imagine: in just 20 to 30 minutes, you can reach a breathtaking natural viewpoint. There, a magnificent panorama unfolds, including the legendary Troll's Wall (Trollveggen) – the highest vertical rock face in Europe, rising 1,100 meters above its base. You can also admire the iconic and impressive silhouette of the Romsdalshornet (1,550 m) and follow the sparkling meanders of the Rauma River below with your gaze.
This hike is an ideal introduction to the majestic landscapes of Romsdal and a more accessible alternative to the famous Romsdalseggen trail.

Difficulties of the hike
The route follows a good hiking trail that is very short but slightly uneven. A metal chain makes it easier to climb a rocky outcrop, though it does not present any real technical difficulty.
Although there are no markings, they are unnecessary: the starting point is clearly signposted and the trail is straightforward and obvious the entire way to Litlefjellet.
What you'll love
- A breathtaking panorama: Unobstructed views of the Romsdal giants: the intimidating vertical wall of Trollveggen, the pyramid of Romsdalshornet, and the sharp peaks of Vengetinden.
- Unbeatable reward-to-effort ratio: Access a spectacular landscape after only 20-30 minutes of hiking.
