This charming hike takes you deep into an ancient Caledonian pine forest, one of Scotland's most precious ecosystems. The route crosses gorges, follows a rushing river, and reveals the sparkling Coire Loch. It culminates in a magnificent, panoramic viewpoint overlooking Glen Affric.
Often considered one of Scotland's most beautiful valleys, Glen Affric can be explored via this accessible route, which showcases the region's natural riches. The area is home to an abundance of wildlife, and you may have the opportunity to spot pine martens, red squirrels, and a variety of forest birds.

Practical information
Parking
There is a large paid parking lot at Dog Falls, located 7 km after the village of Cannich. Indicative price in 2025: £3 for the day. The lot has picnic tables, toilets, and information brochures on hikes in the area.
Flexible route
The suggested route combines the three marked trails in the area (yellow, red, and white). You can adapt your itinerary according to your preferences and the time available. Each trail can be completed in about an hour.
